We are recruiting for a Senior Legal Counsel role in Stavanger. This is an opportunity to join a small team supporting the legal affairs of an international oil service company operating in 17 countries, publically traded on the Oslo Brs.
The role will include providing legal support on a wide variety of issues in an international context while working closely with the General Counsel and Executive Management of Archer.
The role will be based in our offices in Stavanger. Travel may be required to serve various businesses globally. The role will report directly to the General Counsel in Oslo.
Identify and assess legal risk in ongoing business within the group and new activity / projects
General legal advice to Corporate functions and specific Business Unit projects / contracts
Legal advice and project management in specific Corporate projects (M&A, joint ventures)
Coordination and lead / support of negotiation of prime contracts, joint ventures, MOUs, term sheets and related agreements
Review guarantees and financing documentation
Provide legal advice on corporate law and follow-up our global corporate structure, including stock exchange compliance
Perform risk assessment and review of tenders and related documents received from clients
Ensure Archer's contracting procedures, standards and guidelines are followed
Coordinate with the internal stakeholders and subject matter experts relative to the commercial / legal aspects and risks of projects assigned
Coordinate external counsels
Ensure legal compliance and good corporate governance within the Archer group of companies.
Provide and / or coordinate training for Archer employees of select commercial and legal topics.
Masters in Law / JD / LLB
Norwegian qualification is an asset
8 - 10+ years of legal experience in private practice and / or in-house legal department (preferably in the oil and gas industry)
Strong corporate commercial background
Self-driven & resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as in groups
Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities
Excellent English speaking and writing skills
