In 2018, Barco realized sales of 1.13 billion euro and employs 3,600 employees located in 90 countries. Barco’s Entertainment division is looking for an NPI Project Manager to strengthen its Projection Department.

Within Projection, the New Product Introduction (NPI) team is responsible for the introduction of new Projection projects and modules : from BCR (Business Case Review) until FQR (Formal Qualification Review Function).

As our Project Manager, you will be responsible for the Project Management from BCR (Business Case Review) until FQR (Formal Qualification Review) in order to ensure successful completion of all agreed stage gates within the agreed specification, schedule and budget.

As the NPI project team collaborates with various departments involved with the introduction of new projection products (R&D, Product Management, PEI, Procurement, Quality, Service and Supply Chain), the Project Manager also acts as the primary interface between all these relevant stakeholders.

The right person needs to be able to align different stakeholders and maintain them in sync within the project scope and predefined targets.

It is therefore important that the person holds excellent interpersonal skills.The position will be located in Fredrikstad, but will collaborate closely with our Head office in Belgium, so the right person needs to communicate well in English.

The position will include some travelling to Belgium. Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the project schedule and budget achievement at each stage from BCR until FQR
  • Accountable for the achievement of product quality, cost and timing, reproducibility and project specifications
  • Evaluate whether the technical solution is in accordance with the project documents, requirements and specifications and internal development rules
  • Interface with relevant department in a multi-disciplinary and efficient and effective way
  • Follow up and communicate project status, including KPI s to relevant stakeholders
  • Initiate corrective actions and ensure proper escalations to the right people

  • Profile

  • BA or Masters degree in Engineering, applied economics or similar
  • Min. 5 years Project Management experience
  • Advanced skills in Project Management (theory and best practice) PMP certified would be considered a plus excellent planning and organization skills
  • SAP and MS Office
  • Analytical and with a strong sense of problem-solving skills
  • Team player with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive and innovative, able to take initiative
  • Decisive as well as good decision-making skills
