Position Description

  • Focused on Pre & Post sale technical field support to all customers QIAGEN customers, with a strong focus on NGS workflows.
  • Position responsibilities split between Field Applications Specialist (FAS) and Field Service Specialist (FSS) duties : 60% FAS and 40% FSS.
  • Involvement in and responsibility for on-site GeneReader workflow installation, customer training, education and / or troubleshooting on QIAGEN NGS solutions, including consumables, instrumentation and applications in all markets.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating with other internal departments to optimise protocols or aid in experimental design.

  • Providing on-site wet lab bench support for all non GeneReader™ workflow QIAGEN NGS products. This includes workflow optimization, validation and troubleshooting.
  • Install, maintain, repair and support instruments on all levels HW, SW and applications
  • Develop and maintain highest possible level of technical knowledge and networking.
  • Maintain high level knowledge of automation / instrumentation and related applications.
  • Provide second tier support for Sales and Technical Support by performing trainings such as train the trainer, seminars for internal and external customers.
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with customers.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of reference customers.
  • Maintain highest customer satisfaction.
  • Actively promote QIAGEN products including Service and Support products and assist in exceeding revenue targets, support Demonstrations and evaluations if needed.
  • Utilize all available tools such as Service Reports, Spare Part & Service Manuals, ISI Notes, and the relevant databases to input information that will increase effectiveness.
  • Give active feedback to Sales, Marketing, Global Product Support, Global Training and Management.
  • Manage effective available time and resources.
  • Provide cross-border / district / region support when required.
  • Positively represent QIAGEN in front of the customer.
  • Will require work with hazardous substances such as acids and solvents and to work in biological laboratories up to BSL3.
  • Education :

  • Ph.D. or equivalent experience in molecular biology or genomics.
  • Experience :

  • Extensive practical / lab experience, or at least 2 Years Technical Service or Field Service within a relevant market sector.
  • Experience with Next Generation Sequencing technologies and applications.
  • Experience with statistical software programs and web-based tools to retrieve and analyze data a plus.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of QIAGEN and / or competitor products for all market segments.
  • Diagnostic experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience with and / or certified in regulatory environments such as CLIA, HIPAA, Safe-Harbor, ACGS, or other Global human genetics regulation is a plus.
  • Valid driver license and Passport as well as willingness to extensive travel, national and internationally.
  • Engineering / maintenance knowledge would be a highly desirable, either as an education or interest.
  • Languages :

  • Very good knowledge of English language. Knowledge of any additional language would be a plus.
  • Fluent knowledge of at least one of the Nordic languages is a must.

  • Extensive travel required (75%).
