At TechnipFMC, wedeliver critical projects of a scale, scope and difficulty that you simplywon’t find anywhere else. We are looking for a Rigid Pipeline DisciplineEngineer who can join our multicultural team in Lysaker.

TheRigid Pipeline Engineer undertakes a range of engineering, design andinstallation activities in the context of engineering studies, FEED work,tenders or an actual project.

Although the Rigid Pipeline engineer may takeresponsibility for undertaking scopes allocated, such scope will typically beperformed under the guidance and supervision of a more senior disciplinecolleague, such as a specialist engineer, senior specialist or lead engineer.

Aspart of the daily tasks, the Rigid Pipeline Discipline Engineer will performcalculations and analyses using consolidated company guidelines.

He / She willreport and communicate outputs through design report, drawings, procedures orspecification documents. He / She will be systematically responsible for thequality of own work, through thorough verification of own deliverables.

Throughoutthe course of a project, the Rigid Pipeline Engineer is also expected tointerface with a range of internal or external stake-

holders including theproject team, the procurement team, the operational teams, the centers ofexpertise, the client and suppliers.

Job description

As part of the dailytasks, the Rigid Pipeline Engineer will be required to :

  • Perform calculations and analyses using consolidated company tools. This could include pipeline sizing, general pipeline and rigid spools design calculations.
  • Write reports and calculation notes
  • Prepare and coordinate drawings
  • Design and prepare technical specifications for the procurement of key pipeline component, using consolidated company guidelines
  • Attend risk assessment sessions
  • Monitor own activity progress against plan and advise a more senior colleague of any risk to schedule slippage
  • Follow up test procedures, or offshore operation procedures
  • Interface with key engineering stake-holders such as RP&IT, PPG or Genesis
  • Prepare and undertake internal presentation or occasionally for external parties
  • Participate to the consolidation of track record and best practices
  • Participate pro-actively to the lessons learned and continuous improvement processes
  • Occasionally checks peers’ engineering deliverables, when deemed having the sufficient competence to do so
  • Systematically be responsible for the quality of own work, through thorough verification of own deliverables.

  • Pipelay Vessel Mobilisation manual
  • Pipelay vessel Mobilisation project engineer
  • Coordinate pipelay analyses

  • You are meant for this job if

  • Youhave an Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural or AeronauticalEngineering MSc or equivalent
  • 2+years’ experience in subsea pipelines engineering & design, either for aninstallation contractor or a subsea design house.
  • Somedegree of familiarity with the most common codes (eg DNVGL).
  • Experiencewith offshore installation of rigid pipelines, preferably in reel lay.
  • Experiencedin doing design or installation engineering
  • Skilledin producing technical product documents
  • Understandingof schematic drawings
  • Enthusiasmfor engineering and technology
  • Drivetowards quality & efficiency
  • Goodcommunications skills, sharing and listening, spoken and written
