We want individuals who thrive on challenge, responsibility and growth. We are currently searching for a Safety Manager candidate who is an established professional in the Health Safety and Environment domain.

As a member of the Bird Construction Team on the Confederation Line Extension LRT project your primary focus is to act as the Project Safety Manager for the Bird Construction program.

You will be responsible for the implementation and management of the safety program and work closely with the construction consortium.

You will be responsible for program wide documentation and reporting, having the support of on-site and office staff. You will have strong communication and leadership skills while working well within a team environment.

Working with the Regional Safety Director and the Project Director you will implement established safety protocol while assessing current and future needs of the program and assuring compliance with the Ontario Health and Safety Act as well as the Bird Safety Program.

Qualifications :

  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety act and regulations.
  • Technically sound in safety knowledge and best practices.
  • The ability to coach, mentor and motivate those around you.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the construction industry.
  • Previous experience on multi site infrastructure projects would be an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • A CRSP or similar designation would be considered an asset.
  • A detailed and organized individual.
