Purpose of the Role Our Process Engineer is the technical point of contact for the production line and project teams. In this role you will be entrusted with the task of building the technical mastery of the production line and you will do so by leading the analysis of line losses, driving the productivity agenda and owning the continuous improvement (CI) training. Main Responsibilities
Support the Team Leader in reaching SQCDSM (safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability & morale) targets for the line and spreading the culture of zero losses within the core team, starting from the loss analysis.
Take part in the DMS (Daily Management System) collecting data and analysing the root cause (Root Cause Analysis) to develop a system of loss prevention and eradication.
Be the owner of loss and waste analysis for the line, including implementation of online tracking tools for main process variables and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Oversee focused improvement activities on the line / area through the implementation of CI tools and leading of PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle.
Own CI / productivity roadmap for the area of responsibility.
Deliver clear understanding of the continuous improvement process requirements (e.g. behaviours, attitude and culture) necessary to build a productive environment that sustains productivity delivery as well as to improve safety, quality, and service.
Contribute to the development of operators & technicians by coaching, motivating and supporting the team. Ensure information flow, problem solving, goal setting, and process improvements are completed as expected.
Lead 6 Sigma, CI and CapEX projects - such as implementation of FI concept as part of Integrated Lean 6 Sigma (including the development and the roll-out of the corresponding tools : loss analysis, 5W-analysis, KPI, DMS, RCA, PM, Kaizen, etc.).
Spend as much time as possible on the shop floor to fix problems, improve our systems and identify opportunities to increase productivity.
Deliver results with a defined yearly target.
Review the technical modifications that will be introduced on the line with the start of new projects. Support the implementation of new products.
Communicate with other plants, both internally and externally, in order to successfully lead benchmarking and reapplication activities.
Share the best practices and learn from others.
University degree in engineering (e.g. chemical, mechanical) or food science.
Consolidated technical know-how and knowledge of food technology.
Experience in project management would be an advantage.
Good command of Norwegian and English both written and spoken.
Familiarity with AutoCAD & of MiniTab systems, as well as with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes.
Experience with data management or data analysis.
Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills; ability to cooperate with people at all levels and set priorities.
Customer and service-oriented attitude, willingness to learn.
