Chief Operations Office

Inmarsat’s Chief Operations Office (COO) plays a vital role managing the services that keep our business running and delivering to our customers.

COO consists of 9 functions from Satellite Operations to Customer Service and Service Delivery, Network Operations and Service Assurance to Group IT, One IT, Cyber Security and the Digital office.

Primary role purpose :

The Service Engineer position has the responsibility to do the upcoming service and installation jobs on the service department, and to contribute to in-

house assembly and testing when not travelling.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Installation, service, repair and test VSAT and L-Band equipment
  • Production and testing of equipment as needed
  • Handover documentation for each service / install, such as timesheets, expense- and service reports, according to company standards and policies
  • Stay updated with technical information available internally and externally
  • Make sure to have the right equipment and tools available for service / installs
  • Follow HSE policies at all times
  • The Service Engineer might be given other tasks or duties by the Head of Field Service EMEA.

    Essential Knowledge and Skills :

    Theoretical background

  • Education at a University level within technical subjects or certificate of apprenticeship within service electronics or similar
  • Lack of education can be replaced by relevant experience
  • Practical background

  • 3-5 years experience within technical subjects
  • Other relevant experience
  • Desirable Knowledge and Skills :

  • Ability to identify with the Inmarsat values
  • Positive and friendly attitude towards colleges, customers and suppliers
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have an interest for technical work
  • Flexible and able to travel when necessary
  • Independent in his / her work
  • Ability to think practical, work structured and be solution orientated
  • Fluent in English both orally and in writing
