Purpose of the role As our new Quality Coordinator it will be your task to ensure effective management of quality, food safety and legal compliance of the products manufactured in our Oslo confectionary plant, including the iconic Freia chocolate!
We will trust you to improve our processes and reduce variabilities according to the plant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the Integrated Lean 6 Sigma journey and to do that with focus on product quality and food safety.
Coordinate and maintain local food safety systems such as sanitation, pest control, internal audits and consumer complaints.
Be the go-to person for the line team for all quality topics and own the quality program in the assigned department.
Be present on the production floor and work with operations staff to implement our quality agenda. Ensure that quality requirements are included in the overall training plan for all plant employees and conduct the training if required.
Participate in change projects to assess potential quality and food safety risks.
Assess and improve the process capability & control to ensure product conformity.
Evaluate and initiate necessary corrective actions to address quality issues, eliminate the root cause and define preventive actions to prevent re-occurrence.
Design, implement and maintain systems to collect and analyse data on critical quality losses and KPIs. Use this data to identify process losses and work with line management to prioritize improvement opportunities.
Participate in the daily direction-setting processes on the production floor and with the site management. Report results, flag issues and request resources.
Maintain, improve and implement local standards for sanitation / cleaning programs in accordance with Good Hygienic Practice (GHP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Norwegian legislation.
Lead and support relevant GHP / GMP projects.
Support internal and external audits and inspections
Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
University degree in food technology or engineering or relevant work experience, especially from a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of quality and food safety standards.
Good command of English and at least one Scandinavian language, preferably Norwegian.
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing would be an asset.
Ability to communicate and cooperate with people at all levels, as well as to challenge the status quo; being proactive and engaged.
