Role Summary / Purpose

Within GE Renewable Energy Business, the Hydro market is expected to grow in the coming years especially in the medium / small, service and digital markets.

Hydro has today a global industrial footprint in Europe, China, India, North-America and Latin America. Within Europe, the Nordic markets is one with the highest potential and we are looking to reinforce the Control System capability of our Engineering team in Oslo.

Essential Responsibilities

You will assume responsibility for the design and all the technical aspects of the control system and apparatus for refurbishment and new projects from basic design to post-warranty phase.

You will find a pleasant and professional environment, will have the opportunity to play a key role in our projects, and will meet development opportunities in design, commissioning and digital.

  • Design and programming of control systems
  • Prepare technical specifications and bill of material for construction and assembly
  • Prepare and execute factory acceptance tests (FAT)
  • Support and participate in commissioning
  • Support technical tenders
  • Optimize technical solutions
  • Technically evaluate potential suppliers and their offers
  • Participate in clarification meetings with customers.
  • Support to clients on call and visits
  • Qualifications / Requirements

  • BS OR MS University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Experience with controller programming (like PLC) and HMI programming
  • Experience with PLS programming and HMI
  • Experience with IEC 60870-5-104 NUC and IEC 61850
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English. Norwegian writing is compulsory
  • Know-how on gateway / router setup based on linux
  • Independent and flexible
  • Team player
  • Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in hydropower business
  • Experience in refurbishments project
  • Experience interfacing with customers
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation products or similar (e.g. Siemens, Saia Burgess)
  • Certificate of apprenticeship within electro
