Thon Hotel Brussels City Centre is the major 4-star hotel of Brussels with 454 rooms. The hotel offers a modern, refreshing look and is located in the heart of Brussels, close to shopping areas and the business district.
Main objective :
Night Auditors play a very important role in preparing and checking the daily Front Office tasks. They are the link between the Front Office Operations and the Accounting department and are responsible for the security of our guests and staff members during the night.
They take ownership and responsibility of any problem that may occur during the night and try to find a suitable solution, with the guest and the hotel in mind.
Responsibilities / Tasks :
Handle Check-in and Check-out and operate telephone according to brand standards
Make and charge room reservations, checking hotel occupancy and handling overbooking situations
Insert daily Wakeup calls, make taxi reservations and provide assistance to our guests whenever needed
Report and handle (technical) problems and provide a prompt follow-up to guest issues
Prepare reports for other departments and communicate with the different shifts and departments to ensure a continuous operation and consistent service level.
Handle e-mails and follow up accordingly
Run all Night Audit reports and check all daily audits and reports; report to Accountant, Front Office Manager and General Manager when discrepancies are found
Check the hotel for abnormalities / open doors / uninvited guests through safety walks; report and handle discrepancies
Check guest balances and action where needed, prepare city ledgers for the accounting department
Update and handle analytical data on different software platforms
Handle the night checklist and other related tasks
Skill set we are looking for :
You are flexible and initiative-oriented and thrive in a hectic working environment, a real multi-tasker who can handle more than one task at the time.
You hold a degree in Hotel Administration or Tourism, or have qualifications through an apprenticeship.
You are a dynamic, motivated and service minded person, a real Problem Solver and a reliable Team Player
Friendly personality and high standard of customers' approach
Professional and well-groomed presentation
Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Opera PMS
Good organisational and communication skills
Analyses relevant information about an issue and makes conscious decisions for action
Fluent in written and verbal English and French is a must. Dutch or any other language is a plus
Practical working experience in Front Office Area (reception, cashiering, night reception) is a plus
